WSS Rankings 2026/27 | Event Three Update

The World Seniors Snooker (WSS) ranking lists have been updated following the third World Seniors Tour event of the 2026/27 season at The Crucible Club in Reading last weekend.

The top two players on the official WSS ranking list, as well as the top two on the ‘Race to the Crucible’ one-year list will earn their places in the 2027 World Seniors Snooker Championship at the Crucible Theatre.

One point is awarded for each frame won at an event and, should the same players sit in the top two of both rankings lists, then the official world rankings would take priority.

Canavan Keeps Top Spot

Jersey’s Aaron Canavan remains the World Seniors Snooker official world number one following the first three events of the new season.

Despite a relatively slow start to the campaign, which has seen the former World Seniors champion fail to go beyond the last 16 of the event, he remains the comfortable world number one courtesy of a consistent two-year period during which he has won multiple WSS Tour events and reached the final of the 2025 World Seniors Championship.

Second-placed Gerard Greene has reduced the deficit on Canavan slightly, now trailing by 47 points, and remains in the second automatic qualification position.

Leading the chasing pack is Wayne Townsend, who is 28 points behind Greene, while Dharminder Lilly and the climbing Stuart Watson complete the top five.

Steadman Back In First

Craig Steadman has regained the lead in the one-year ‘Race to the Crucible’ ranking list after defeating debutant Jimmy Robertson to win his second title of the campaign.

The current World Snooker Tour professional had dropped to fourth following an early exit in event two, but is now back in poll position while fellow tournament winner Ryan Day sits in second – eight points behind Steadman.

Andy Lavin and Dean Galbally, who each reached a final of the first events, leading the chasing pack while Neal Jones completes the top five. Meanwhile, event three runner-up Robertson enters the ranking list at 21st.

Martin Closes The Gap on Hunter

Wayne Martin’s second title of the Super Seniors season has seen him close the gap to just 10 points on current leader John Hunter.

Hunter is yet to earn a title this season but has managed to hold on to the world number one spot due to his consistency across the two-year period.

Martin’s title win has seen him reduce Hunter’s lead from 26 points to just 10, while event three runner-up Karl Townsend moves to 21st.

Event four of the World Seniors Tour takes place on 20-22 November at The Crucible Club in Reading, England. Enter now via WPBSA SnookerScores.
