WSS Rankings 2026/27 | Event Two Update
The World Seniors Snooker (WSS) ranking lists have been updated following the second World Seniors Tour event of the 2026/27 season at The Crucible Club in Reading last weekend.
The top two players on the official WSS ranking list, as well as the top two on the ‘Race to the Crucible’ one-year list will earn their places in the 2027 World Seniors Snooker Championship at the Crucible Theatre.
One point is awarded for each frame won at an event and, should the same players sit in the top two of both rankings lists, then the official world rankings would take priority.
CANAVAN STAYS FIRST
Aaron Canavan remains the World Seniors Snooker (WSS) world number one following the opening two events of the new season.
Despite a slow start to the new campaign, which has seen him exit at the last 32 and last 16 stages, the man from Jersey remains in poll position courtesy of a consistent two-year period during which he has won three WSS Tour events and reached the final of the 2025 World Seniors Championship.
Gerard Greene remains in the second automatic qualifying spot despite also suffering early exits in each of the first two events and he sits 56 points behind Canavan in the race for first position.
Two-time Crucible Theatre qualifier Wayne Townsend continues to lead the chasing pack, trailing Greene by 29 points, while the top five are made up of Dharminder Lilly and Matthew Ford.
DAY LEADS THE RACE
Ryan Day has climbed to the top of the one-year Race to the Crucible ranking list following his maiden WSS title win in Reading last weekend.
The former world number six reached the quarter-finals of the first event before going all the way to lifting the title at the Crucible Club on Sunday by defeating Andy Lavin in the title match.
Event one champion Craig Steadman has dropped from first to fourth with Dean Galbally, who lost in the event one final, and last weekend’s semi-finalist Daniel Ward climbing into the top three.
Lavin moves into the top 10, claiming ninth position, after a memorable run to the final of the second event.
HUNTER MAINTAINS THE LEAD
John Hunter is still the Super Seniors number one after a run to the final of the second event in Reading last weekend.
The 60-year-old eventually lost out to Bal Sembi, who moves up to 18th in the list, but now boasts a 26-point advantage over event one winner Wayne Martin following the latest revision,
Neil Carroll, Mark Evans and David Brock make up the remainder of the top five.
