UK Super Seniors Snooker Championship Launched For Players Aged 55 And Over

World Seniors Snooker (WSS) has announced the launch of the UK Super Seniors Snooker Championship – a brand-new tournament exclusively for players aged 55 and over, which will take place on 5-6 December 2026.

The inaugural championship will bring together experienced players from across the UK and beyond for two days of competitive snooker and a celebration of the sport’s legendary older generation.

The opening day will see round robin group stages take place at The Crucible Club venues in both Reading and Newbury before the winner is decided by the knockout stages – which will be staged in Reading on the Sunday.

The announcement comes following record entries and an increased prize fund for the 2026/27 Super Seniors Tour, with Wayne Martin winning the first event of the new campaign in August.

Jason Francis, Chairman of WSS, said: “Our Super Seniors category represents one of the fastest-growing areas of participation in competitive snooker with former professionals, long-standing amateurs and players returning to the sport continuing to demonstrate that age is no barrier to playing at a high level”
