Stephen Maguire is the latest name added to the 2026 British Seniors Open line-up as the former UK Championship winner joins a star-studded field at Vaillant Live in Derby on 27-28 December.

Maguire, who is a former world number two, has enjoyed a decorated career on the World Snooker Tour (WST) – claiming seven ranking event titles in an unbroken 28-year spell among the professional ranks.

His breakthrough came in 2004, when he captured the UK Championship title, and he has also reached the semi-finals of the World Championship on two occasions in 2007 and 2012.

Maguire is the fifth name added to the British Seniors Open line-up, joining defending champion Joe Perry, four-time World Seniors champion Jimmy White, 1997 world champion Ken Doherty and 12-time World Women’s Snooker champion Reanne Evans.

The event will mark Maguire’s World Seniors Snooker (WSS) Tour debut and adds another major name to the impressive field.

Jason Francis, WSS Chairman, said: “I am so pleased to welcome another former major winner to the World Seniors Snooker Tour. These events are growing year on year and attracting the very best over-40s players in the world. These are not exhibitions, they are competitive events, and no one tries harder on a snooker table than Stephen Maguire. He is going to prove a fierce opponent for whoever he draws.”

As another major champion joins the line-up, anticipation is building for what promises to be a thrilling British Seniors Open – bringing together some of the biggest names in the sport for two days of fiercely competitive action in Derby!
