Three-Year Partnership with the Asia Pacific Snooker & Billiards Federation Announced

World Seniors Snooker (WSS) is delighted to announce a new three-year partnership with the Asia Pacific Snooker & Billiards Federation (APSBF) which will guarantee the winner of the Asia Pacific Seniors Championship a place in the World Seniors Snooker Championship at the Crucible Theatre until at least 2029.

The agreement builds on a successful relationship that has already seen players such as Roger Farebrother and Hassan Kerde represent the region at the World Seniors Championship in recent years and earning notable victories over Tony Knowles and Tony Drago respectively.

The new partnership also includes a commitment to expand the qualification pathway from 2028 onwards with a minimum of three WSS qualifying events to be staged across the Asia Pacific region.

Jason Francis, Chairman of World Seniors Snooker, said: “It is fantastic to welcome the Asia Pacific Seniors champion to the Crucible Theatre each year, but we only get to see these players on one occasion. There is tremendous seniors talent across the region and until now they’ve had just one opportunity each season to earn their place at the home of snooker. This new multi-year partnership gives Alex and his team the platform to continue growing the seniors circuit and begins the journey towards establishing a full World Seniors Snooker ranking event in the Asia Pacific region over the coming years.”

It provides our players with a clear pathway to compete on one of the sport’s greatest stages while helping us grow opportunities for players aged over-40 across multiple countries.

“We are excited to continue working with World Seniors Snooker to develop the game and look forward to seeing many more Asia Pacific players competing at the Crucible Theatre in the years ahead.”

This season’s qualifying event will take place on 4-7 February 2027 at Club Forster, NSW, Australia. Entry is open to all eligible players aged 40 and over who want the opportunity to represent the Asia Pacific region at the World Seniors Snooker Championship in Sheffield.
