Day Headlines Record Entry List for Event One

Four-time ranking event winner Ryan Day is among a record 68 entries for the first World Seniors Tour event of the new season.

The former world number six, whose last ranking victory came at the 2022 British Open, is one of three current World Snooker Tour (WST) professionals who will compete at The Crucible Club in Reading, England on 14-16 August.

Joining him are Craig Steadman and 2021 World Seniors champion David Lilley – who is one of two former World Seniors Championship winners in the line-up alongside top seed Aaron Canavan.

Ranking event runners-up Mark Davis, Mark Joyce and Gerard Greene also feature – with the latter hoping for an immediate return to the Crucible Theatre having qualified by winning four of the nine events during the previous campaign.

The World Seniors Tour is made up of nine events, all staged in Reading, across the season with the best performers in the official two-year and one-year ‘Race to the Crucible’ ranking lists earning their places at the 2027 World Seniors Championship in Sheffield next May.

This year’s World Seniors Championship at the Crucible saw record ticket sales and viewing figures and we are backing this up heading into the new campaign with record entries for both the World Seniors Tour and Super Seniors events.
