The World Seniors Snooker (WSS) ranking lists have been updated following the third World Seniors Tour event of the 2025/26 season at The Crucible Club in Reading last weekend.

Official Two-Year Ranking List

Race to the Crucible Ranking List

Super Seniors Ranking List

Rankings FAQ

The top two players on the official WSS ranking list, as well as the top two on the ‘Race to the Crucible’ one-year list will earn their places in the World Seniors Championship.

One point is awarded for each frame won at an event and, should the same players sit in the top two of both rankings lists, then the official world rankings would take priority.

Consistency Key for Canavan

Aaron Canavan has further increased his lead at the top of the official two-year WSS world ranking list to 34 points.

The former World Seniors Snooker Championship winner has been the most consistent performer on the Tour in recent years and has followed up his run to the final at the Crucible Theatre in May by reaching at least the semi-finals of each World Seniors Tour event so far during this campaign.

Wayne Townsend, who made his debut in Sheffield earlier this year, maintains second place following a quarter-final run last weekend. He holds a 20-point advantage over third-placed Alfie Burden, while recent event winners Dharminder Lilly and Gerard Greene complete the top five.

The remainder of the top 10 positions are currently held by Philip Williams, Andrew Norman, Nigel Howe, Stuart Watson and Matt Ford.

Crucible Race Hots Up

Aaron Canavan has also risen to the summit of the one-year ‘Race to the Crucible’ ranking list after reaching the semi-finals in Reading last weekend.

The Jersey cueist has reached one final and two semi-finals so far this season and overtakes event two winner Dharminder Lilly into top spot.

Lilly remains in the all-important top two positions and holds a four point advantage over third-placed Wayne Townsend, while Neal Jones and last weekend’s champion Gerard Greene sit in fourth and fifth positions.

Event three runner-up Jamie Curtis-Barrett climbs to sixth, closely followed by Neil Craycraft, Daniel Ward, Stuart Watson and Matthew Day.

Hunter Holds On

John Hunter remains the top ranked player on the Super Seniors ranking list despite a semi-final exit in Reading on Sunday.

The 59-year-old’s lead at the top has been reduced to just five points, with David Brock sitting in second, while Karl Townsend, Dennis Tristram and Anthony Harris hold the top five.

Event three winner Andy Milliard climbs inside the top ten following his victory and now sits in ninth position.

World Seniors Snooker (WSS) have today announced the dates for the 2025/26 season which will see nine tour events, with a minimum of four places available for players in their 2026 World Seniors Snooker Championship via the ranking list qualification system

Changes for the new campaign mean anyone over 40, including World Snooker Tour (WST) professionals, are now eligible to participate in the tour events which will see the winner’s prize doubled each weekend to £1,000 and prize money being paid down to the last 16.

Jason Francis, Chairman of WSS, said “This season there are a lot more players eligible to play, including a number of WST professionals, and we have pledged £27,000 in prize money across our nine events which is more than double the amount that was on offer last season. If you are over 40, now is the time to dust off your cue and come and enjoy some friendly but serious competition”

The season will begin on Friday 15 August 2025 with all events played at the Crucible Sports and Social Club in Reading.
