Brilliance in Berkshire saw Greene continue a memorable season on the World Seniors Snooker (WSS) Tour – having reached the last five event finals, winning four of them, and also firing in a magical maximum break last month.

The former professional began his weekend with back-to-back whitewash wins over Danny Rydzek and previous event winner Daniel Ward to reach the last eight.

England’s Matthew Ford was the first cueist to take a frame off the eventual champion as he took the opener in their quarter-final meeting on Sunday.

Greene was able to win four of the next five, however, to advance as a 4-2 winner before another whitewash win followed against Stuart Watson to book his place in a fifth consecutive final.

A memorable weekend for Stott had seen him reach his maiden World Seniors Tour event final, having never previously gone beyond the last 16 stage in the previous six attempts.

The 43-year-old had last defeated former professional Philip Williams in a decider to advance to this stage and held his own in the early exchanges of the final as the first two frames were shared.

From there, Greene stepped up a gear and a break of 60 helped the Northern Irishman to a 4-1 victory to earn the title in Reading once more.

Hunter Back On Top in Super Seniors

John Hunter defeated David Moritz 2-0 to win his third Super Seniors title of the season in Reading.

Hunter, who also won the second and fifth events of the campaign, won through a field of 18 players on Sunday to further his position at the summit of the Super Seniors ranking list.

The one-day competition, which is open to players aged 55 and over, saw Hunter defeat Edward Folly (2-0), Andrew Norman (2-1) and Mark Evans (2-1) en route to the title match.

His last opponent was Moritz, a former ranking event finalist on the World Disability Billiards & Snooker (WDBS) Tour, who had overcome John Rees in a decider to reach his maiden Super Seniors final.

Hunter was in fine scoring form, having already compiled the tournament high break of 96 in the quarter-finals, and he compiled visits of 65 and 47 to secure the title as a 2-0 victor.
